  1. Who We Are

XOXO Events ("XOXO", "we", "us") is a sole proprietorship trading from 1 Martingale Avenue, Hout Bay, Cape Town, organising singles and social events for professionals, including speed dating, speed friending, and curated social experiences.

  1. Eligibility
  • You must be 18 or older to book or attend any XOXO event.
  • Some events have a stated minimum age (e.g. 30+). You confirm you meet the stated minimum when booking.
  1. Bookings and Tickets
  • A ticket reserves your place at a specific event, date, time, and venue, confirmed by email or WhatsApp after purchase.
  • Bookings are only confirmed once payment is received in full.
  1. Pricing
  • Ticket pricing varies by event type, typically between R250 and R800 per person.
  • The price shown at checkout for a specific event is the correct, final price.
  1. Cancellations and Refunds
  • Cancel 7 days or more before an event: full refund.
  • Cancel 72 hours to 7 days before an event: 50% refund.
  • Cancel less than 72 hours before an event, or no-show: no refund.
  • Ticket transfers: you may transfer your ticket to someone else who meets the event's eligibility requirements, at any time before the event, at no charge. You are responsible for confirming the recipient meets eligibility (e.g. minimum age); XOXO may refuse entry to a transferred ticket holder who does not, without refund. Contact us to arrange the transfer.
  • If XOXO cancels an event: full refund.
  1. Event Changes

XOXO may change an event's venue, date, or format where necessary and will notify ticket holders as soon as possible. If you can't attend the new date or venue, you're entitled to a full refund on request — no cancellation fee applies in this case.

  1. Code of Conduct
  • Treat staff, venue teams, and other attendees with respect.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct results in removal from the event without refund or credit.
  • XOXO may refuse future bookings to anyone who breaches this policy.
  1. Photos and Marketing

By attending an XOXO event, you consent to being photographed or filmed, and to that content being used on our website and social media for marketing purposes. If you don't want to be photographed, tell event staff on arrival.

  1. Compatibility Questionnaire and Matching
  • Completing the compatibility questionnaire is optional and only required if you want to be included in matching.
  • Questionnaire responses are handled under our Privacy Policy, published on our website.
  1. Liability
  • Attendance is at your own risk. XOXO is not liable for injury, loss, or damage except where caused by our gross negligence.
  • XOXO does not vet or screen attendees beyond standard booking information, and is not responsible for the conduct, intentions, or outcomes of connections made at or through our events.
  • Venue-specific rules also apply while you're on venue premises.
  • Indemnity: you agree to indemnify XOXO against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your own conduct at an event, including harm caused to another attendee, staff member, or third party.
  1. Privacy

Use of our services is also governed by our POPIA & Privacy Policy, published on our website.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
